Abductors of Ondo construction workers demand N20 million ransom

The Kidnappers of three construction workers abducted along Ikaram and Akunnu axis of Akoko Northwest and North East Local Government Areas of Ondo State are demanding for N20 million ransom before the could set them free.

The three victims were working at the construction and rehabilitation of Ikaram/Akunnu Akoko road when unknown gunmen kidnapped them at about 6pm.

They were allegedly whisked away to an unknown destination.

Local hunters, vigilante, police officers and other security forces are already combing the forest around the axis where the incident took place.

Meanwhile, the Ondo state commissioner of police, Bolaji Salami has deployed more men to comb the forest to secure the release of kidnapped construction workers.

Addressing reporters in Akure, the Police Commissoner said the command is working in tandem with other security agencies to secure the release of the victims.

He promised that the victims would be rescued unhurt.

Mr. Salami also identified the boundary between Ondo and Kogi states as major hideout of kidnappers.
