14 killed as bandits strike Niger again

About 14 people have died following bandit attacks on villages in Kwata ward in Wushishi Local Government Area of Niger State, reports claim.

The victims comprised mostly women and children were killed while trying to run for their lives during the attack.

Meanwhile, scores were said to have ran into a river in their attempt to escape the attack but, unfortunately drowned.

Reports claim the bodies of the victims were being recovered and buried while several others are still missing.

It was also gathered that seven people were shot by the bandits out of whom four were confirmed dead while two others are receiving treatment at the IBB Specialist Hospital, Minna.

A total of 14 people were said to have lost their lives while the community was still counting its losses as some families said they are yet to find their relatives.

Also, the bandits reportedly rustled several cows, snatched motorcycles and kidnapped a number of persons, especially girls.
