Presidential aspirant, Prince Adewole Adebayo, has taken a swipe at former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu, over his ‘dirty fight’ remarks.

During his consultation with the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi and the Olubadan-designate, Oba Lekan Balogun, on Sunday, Tinubu had said he is ready to get dirty to become president in 2023.

His words: “No amount of intimidation can stop me. I am ready to get dirty. I am out to become President of Nigeria. We are at a crossroads.”

However, in a series of tweets on Monday, Adebayo said Nigerians are not after politicians who can fight dirty, but those that can run a clean government.

The legal practitioner added that only the new generation with intellectual and technocratic competence can tackle insecurity, corruption, poverty, economic and moral decline.

“Tinubu understand that Nigerians are not after who can fight dirty, but who can run a clean government. Too many dirty deals resulting in dirty fights washing off dirty linens are in the public already,” he wrote.

“We need to tackle insecurity, corruption, poverty, economic and moral decline. This is the job of a new generation with intellectual and technocratic competence, and not an agbero mentality. #HopeAgain2023”.

During his declaration in January, Tinubu had claimed that his lifelong ambition was to become president.
