The National Directorate of Employment in Ondo State has disclosed that timely payment of monthly allowances will be made to 350 apprentices who are to undergo training under its Basic National Open Apprenticeship Scheme (BNOAS)while advising participants to submit banking details appropriately to avoid delay in payment.

The Acting Director-General of NDE, Mallam Abubakar Fikpo, made this disclosure in Akure recently while flagging off the 2021 programme where the participants would be trained in various skills and be paid a monthly stipend.

According to Fikpo ,the program will be monitored by officials from the Inspectorate departmentto ensure no one is absent during the period of the training while adding that the programme has been useful in reducing poverty and boosting economic recovery in the state.

He informed the trainees that trendy and demand-driven skills have been selected for them in line with modern practices to facilitate the employability of graduate trainees and douse cases of skills mismatch in labour market.

According to him, “I implore the lucky trainee to avail themselves of the rare opportunity made available by the NDE in a time like this when the whole world is ravaged by the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.

“This training serves as a palliative to cushion the effect of the boisterous pestilence.”Fikpo concluded.
