The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Plateau says four candidates are contesting for the Pengana constituency seat in the State House of Assembly for Bassa Local Government Area of the state.
Mr Osaretin Imahiyereobo, INEC’s Head, Voter Education and Publicity in the state, disclosed this in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Jos.
The by-election for the constituency seat slated for Aug. 3, followed the demise of Mr Ezekiel Afon of APC, after he was declared winner of the election in March.
Imahiyereobo said the four candidates are: Mr Yakubu Sanda of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Mr Sunday Makwat of the Green Party of Nigeria (GNP).
The rest are: Mr Ado Chindo of National Conscience Party (NCP) and Mr Yakubu Buji of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The INEC official assured the public of the commission’s determination to conduct free, fair and credible election.
