A 75-year-old woman has died of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Ekiti State.
The state government announced this in a tweet on Thursday.
“EKITI COVID-19 UPDATE: We can confirm that one (1) of the samples sent to the NCDC accredited laboratory for testing returned positive of the #COVID19 virus infection,” it said.
“The new positive case, a 75-year-old female, has died from complications of the virus.”
As of May 21, Ekiti had 20 confirmed COVID-19 cases – five active, 13 discharged and two deaths.
