87.2m to vote on Saturday — INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says about 87.2 million Nigerians are expected to vote.

The nation will have her presidential and National Assembly elections on Saturday, 25 February before the Governorship and elections on Saturday, 11 March.

Noting that 93.4 million Nigerians are officially registered voters, 87.2 million have collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

This represents about 93.3 percent of the total registered voters in the country with about 6.2 million registered voters failing to collect their Permanent Voters Cards(PVCs).

(INEC) chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, who presented the figures at a briefing on Thursday, ahead of the elections, said about 13.6 million new PVCs were printed for those who registered newly or applied to transfer their voters cards or requested replacement
