Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has alleged vote-buying at his polling unit after casting his ballot.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate voted at about 12:15pm at Polling Unit 19, Ward 04 in Oredo LGA.
Lamenting at the slow pace of the exercise, Mr Obaseki said it took him an hour and 30 minutes to vote.
The governor also expressed disappointment at the security operatives over the uncontrolled crowd.
“You see those cars they have cash in there,” he told reporters making reference to alleged vote-buyers.
Mr Obaseki faces a strong challenge from Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in his bid to return as governor for another term.
