APC, PDP release timetables for bye-elections

Ahead of the February 3, 2024 by-elections, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have released timetables and schedule of activities for the contestants into Senatorial, House of Representatives and State Assemblies seats.

The PDP timetable released on Tuesday was signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature.

The sale of nominations, expression of interest and delegates forms will begin on December 28, 2023, and end on January 3, 2024, while primary elections are scheduled to be held on January 9, 2024.

The PDP pegged the price for the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for the Senate, House of Representatives, and House of Assembly at N3.5m, N2.5m and N600,000 respectively.

Also, the APC In a notice on Monday, by the party ‘s national organising secretary, Suleiman Arugungu, said expression of interest and nomination forms for the senate, house of representatives, and state house of assembly would cost N20 million, N10 million, and N2 million, respectively.

Arugungun said the sale of the forms would commence on December 27 and end on January 2, 2024.

He said the deadline for the submission of forms would be on January 3 while the screening of aspirants would be conducted on January 4.

According to the organising secretary, the party’s primary election would be held on January 6, while the review and collation of the list of candidates would be conducted on January 8.
