Mr Abdullahi Candido, Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) has urged the various outfits established by the council to evolve innovative ways of generating revenue for the smooth operation of the council.
Candido made the appeal on Wednesday in Abuja during a stakeholders meeting at the council’s secretariat.
The outfits include AMAC Microfinance bank, AMAC Investment, Property and Development Company, AMAC Marshall and the proposed AMAC Radio.
The chairman said that the meeting was important to highlight the state of affairs of the council and to give a scorecard on the council’s innovative ideas and goals.
“We meant well when we established these outfits and we want them to outlive this administration, so that generations to come will benefit from them.
“But we cannot survive without finance and that is why I want them to be up to their task so that our revenue flow can be encouraging,” Candido said.
The chairman commended the cordial relationship between the executive and the legislative arms of the council.
He urged the management of the outfits to go for regular oversight functions to keep them on their toes and be diligent in their duties.
