Actor Yaphet Lotto, James Bond villian, dies at 81

American actor, Yaphet Frederick Kotto, has been confirmed dead by his wife. He died at age 81.

His wife, Tessie Sinahon, disclosed the news on her Facebook account on Monday.
She wrote, “I’m saddened and still shocked at the passing of my husband, Yaphet of 24 years.

“He died last night around 10:30 pm Philippine time. You played a villain in some of your movies, but for me, you are a real hero and to a lot of people also.

“A good man, a good father, a good husband and a decent human being, very rare to find. One of the best actors in Hollywood, a legend. Rest in Peace Honey. I am going to miss you every day, my best friend, my rock.”

Kotto was born in New York City, U.S on November 15, 1939 and died on March 15, 2021 in Philippines.

He is best known for his role in movies like NBC television series, ‘Homicide: Life on the street’, ‘Alien’, ‘The Running Man’ and also in James Bond movie, ‘Live and Let Die’.

He also starred as FBI Agent Alonzo Mosley in a comedy thriller, ‘Midnight Run’.

Kotto was married three times and blessed with six children. His current wife, Tessie Sinahon is from the Philippines. They got married on July 12, 1998.
