Air Force vows sanction against officer arrested for kidnapping

The Nigerian Air Force has vowed to sanction it’s officer alleged to be involved in kidnapping.

An Army officer, Lance Corporal Mohammed, and an Airman, Corporal Olathe, have arrested in Abuja over alleged armed robbery and kidnapping.

Air Force spokesperson, Air Commodore Wapkerem Maigida, who confirmed the arrest, said, “Investigation is ongoing concerning the incident, and he (Olathe) will be punished according to Armed Forces rules if found guilty.”

Mohammed was reportedly arrested by troops of the Army Headquarters Garrison deployed for guard duty at the Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association College, Kurudu.

While Olathe was reportedly apprehended by Army Headquarters Garrison soldiers on guard duty at the Nigerian Army Post Housing Development Limited, Phase 5 Estate, Kurudu, for allegedly assisting two civilians to kidnap one Emmanuel Sunday, a resident of the estate.
