The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State, Udo Ekpenyong, has died.
Mr Ekpenyong reportedly passed away on Monday in Uyo of health complications arising from suspected COVID-19.
Ekpenyong, a former political adviser to former Governor Victor Attah, until his election in July, was the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
Akwa Ibom has so far recorded 677 cases of the contagion.
