Thousands of protesters from the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC), have pulled down the gate of the National Assembly in Abuja.

Organised labour is currently protesting the hardship inflicted on Nigerians by the removal of fuel subsidy removal, as well as the delayed implementation of palliatives across the nation.

Armed with flags and placards, the protesters who converged at Unity Fountain, Abuja, marched to the Federal Ministry of Justice, before proceeding to the National Assembly.

However, angered by the failure of security officials to allow them access to the National Assembly complex, the protesters pulled down the gates and thronged into the assembly complex.

Protests are currently ongoing across the country with workers making demands as a result of the hardship in the country.
