CHAIRMAN of All Progressives Congress, APC in Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue State, Boniface Okloho was last Friday night murdered in cold blood at his Ehatokpe country home.

A source in the area who confided in this reporter disclosed that the APC boss met his tragic death while returning from a political meeting.

He said Okloho may have been killed as a result of the disproportionate manner he handled party funds given to him during the recent local government campaign of the APC in the state.

His words: “His death may be as a result of the manner he shared the sum of Three Million Naira (N3,000,000) given to him for members of the party recently.

“Instead of being transparent in sharing the money, he was alleged to had taken a large chunk of it to himself, a development which did not go down well with majority of members.

“Most residents of this community believe it was as a result of his greed that he died tragically.

However, when contacted on phone, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Omololu Bishi, said that Okloho’s death was a handiwork of armed robbers and not politically motivated as speculated in some quarters.

Mr Bishi further stated that the incident was still being investigated and promised to intimate the public with fresh information on the incident.
