An Assistant Commissioner of Police, Atiku Nagodi, died in Kano State on Monday.

Nagodi, until his death, was the Mobile Squadron Commander 9, Police Mobile Force in Kano.

The Kano Police Public Relations Office, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, confirmed Nagodi’s demise .

He said the ACP died at the age of 54.

The PPRO stated that Nagodi died of protracted illness.

“He did not die of coronavirus. He died of protracted illness.

“l will give you the full details when l get to the office on Tuesday,” Haruna said.

Nagodi’s demise is the latest in a spate of mysterious deaths in Nigeria’s most populated state.

In the space of two weeks, no fewer than 600 persons have reportedly passed in controversial fashion.

A presidential task force team delegated to investigate this shocking trend concluded that it is linked to the coronavirus.

However, recent figures from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control suggests a disconnect as infections from Kano has continually waned in recent days.
