Ethiopian Airlines has won the ‘Decade of Airline Excellence Awards’ category as Africa’s best-performing airline in the past decade.
The carrier which has been regarded as Africa’s largest according to aviation reports has in the period in review expanded its wings to cover various countries in Africa while creating jobs and businesses in the host countries.
The Airline had under the leadership of Tewolde Gebremariam since 2011 which is the year in which the carrier joined the Star Alliance adopted a productive working relationship with the country of its origin; Ethiopia.
After 10 years, reports say the airline had assumed the biggest in Africa ahead of Dubai which held sway preciously for long distance trips to Africa.
The Decade of Airline Excellence Awards was launched by FlightGlobal this year, in lieu of the Airline Strategy Awards, which will return in 2021. Winners are selected by an independent panel of industry experts.
