Armed bandits have attacked Zugu community of Gummi Local Government Area (LGA) of Zamfara state, and abducted several worshippers in a mosque.
The Zamfara police spokesman, Mohammed Shehu, confirmed the attack to newsmen on Friday.
He, however, noted that State Police Command has not been able to ascertain if it was a mosque that was invaded because the village is in a remote location.
“We have a report stating that bandits abducted people from the village. It is a remote village, so we’re not sure if it’s a mosque that was attacked,” he said.
The terrorists reportedly disguised as fellow worshippers before carrying out their criminal acts. The Imam was about to start delivering sermon when they suddenly brought out their guns.
No one was killed in the attack.l, according to reports.
