The Kaduna State Governor has revealed that no fewer than 937 persons were killed by bandits in 2020 with 1,962 abducted in the same year.

Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, disclosed this on Wednesday.

According to the Commissioner in a presentation of the 2020 Security report before traditional rulers, members of the civil society organisations and the media at the Government House in Kaduna, the government in collaboration with security agencies is working hard to bring the problem to an end.

Aruwan noted that the Igabi Local Government Area of the state has the highest casualty figures of 152 deaths followed by the Zango Kataf local government with 114 deaths.

Kaduna has also experienced a rise in the activities of bandits, which have affected socioeconomic activities in more than seven local government areas of the state – Igabi, Giwa, Chikun, Zango Kataf, Zaria, Kajuru, Kaura and Jemaa.

Kaduna also joins the list of Northern States that are battling with the evil that has led to the death of many.
