Bandits ‘steal police officers’ phones’ in Zamfara

Suspected bandits reportedly stolen phones of some police officers during an attack on a police station in Zamfara State.

The incident is understood to have happened on Tuesday in in Magami District of Gusau Local Government Area of the state.

An eyewitness, identified as Abdul Balarabe, on Wednesday, said the hoodlums stormed the police outpost in the early hours of Tuesday and snatched the phones and other valuables belonging to the policemen on duty.

Balarabe, who happens to be a journalist, added that after collecting the phones, the gunmen shot into the air, causing commotion before returning to their hideout in the bush.

In a tweet, Balarabe wrote: “Bandits attack Magami Divisional police station under Gusau LGA of Zamfara State, snatch phones and other valuables belonging to the police on duty, they also fired warning shots and escaped. The incident happened today around 3:40pm.”
