The Big Brother Naija Level Up reunion has come to a quick end the way it came like an unpleasant whiff in the air. The level of anticipation for the reunion had dropped drastically compared to other reunions.
There was no drama to be anticipated, no beef to be quashed and no new one to resurrect from the reunion. Even though, as the name implies, it is a show to allow housemates come back together under a roof to state how they felt about the show, beefs they had, misunderstandings etc but the viewers are not oblivious to the fact that the reunion is another way to reignite old beefs amongst housemates and their toxic fans.
Level Up reunion show came shortly after Big Brother Titans and that might have distorted the emotions from anticipated reunions.
The housemates had at least three outfit changes, a denim casual look, a traditional wear and a classic look. There were not many rifts to be settled and just a few misunderstandings settled like clearing Amaka’s name in the Chichi, Bella and Phyna mess.
In one of the episodes, the quadrant-angle relationship between Giddyfia, Rachael, Diana and Amaka was addressed. Giddyfia felt Amaka should have been well informed about his stance concerning how they feel about one another. Amaka stated that she had moved on because she is a hot girl. I mean why not?
Diana and Rachael had a faceoff battle but it didn’t need the intervention of a third party or Ebuka to settle their scuffle because it wasn’t needed. It was a dry one, to be honest.
Moving on, Bella and Sheggz explained why they had to put on an act when they initially got out of the Big Brother Naija house. Bella said her family was against her sexual display on National TV and they had chastised her and also hinted that she should act indifferent to Sheggz especially in interviews. She stated that that didn’t last because she loves the man and wouldn’t be away from him irrespective of what their family or fans think. Sheggz equally declared his love to Bella.
Beauty had given reasons she is not cool with Phyna. She said contrary to people’s belief, she had not been angry over Phyna’s decision to date Groovy but she became upset when she saw clips of Phyna slandering her name. She said she didn’t feel the need to pretend she is in a great space with her. She said the same about Bella. According to her, Bella had said a lot of false accusations about her in her absence.
Bella said they were not friends in the house so she didn’t owe her any loyalty in and out of the house.
Groovy discussed the domestic abuse he suffered from Beauty before she was disqualified. He said the housemates feigned the fact that these acts took place in the house. According to him, he expected that the other housemate would side with him but they didn’t. Beauty denied the domestic abuse but apologised for the verbal abuse during their major fight.
The show came to an end and it stopped airing on June 30, 2023. A new season is set to premiere in July.
