Call it a gallery of fashion art as Nigeria stars stormed the red carpet in their best looks for one of the biggest award show in Africa, while other celebrities had us wondering what went wrong.
It was the grand- finale of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards eight-day event hosted in the big city of Lagos.
As usual, celebrities arrived the red carpet in their dazzling looks but this year award show had most of the men in very interesting suits.
Denola Grey won the male category of the best dressed award and it was a well deserving award, the model arrived on the red carpet wearing a red custom Atafo suit that featured lots of diamond on the suit-jacket, which he paired with earrings and gold rings.
Ebuka Obi can never go wrong, the star looked super classic in two tuxedo suits designed by the talented Atafo, he hosted the Live Red Carpet with Toke Makinwa in a full light blue suit, pairing it with black diamond shoes but the host changed into a different suit in dark blue color to present awards.
Noe Akpofure switched it up in a custom green two-piece designed by Ima Manell which had lovely red & yellow flower patterns. The BB Naija season 6 housemate was styled by Swazzi, who paired the suit with a black shirt and diamond necklace.
Daniel Etime Effiong did not come to play as he looked like the boss in a blue and gold suit designed by Deji & Kola clothing brand, it featured a black cross pattern, pairing it with a cool sunglasses.
Osas Ighodaro received recognition as the best dressed female at the award show and it wasn’t surprising, the actress wore a body-hugging silver and gold lace dress with long ruffle train designed by the famous Veekee James.
Toke Makinwa was on fire as she hosted the Live red carpet of the AMVCA, the tv host had two stunning looks for the award show but our favorite was the red dress that featured a feather train extending from the back of the dress.
The award winning brand influencer, Christiana Kayode arrived on the red carpet in a beautitul white diamond dress designed by Veekee James, Christiana wore her hair a ponytail and paired the look with earrings and a lovely clutch.
Erica Nlewedim turned up in a magnificently gorgeous turquoise dress designed by ŚlubneAtelierOrOr, the actress styled herself, pairing the dress with a matching long cape coat that featured butterflies.
Unfortunately, some celebrities were unable to deliver at this year’s award show and Toyin Lawani was one of the few. The designer wore a gown that featured a bull’s head, it was uncertain on the message she was trying to pass but the look was unpleasant.
Timini Egbuson landed on the list for worst dressed, the actor wore a blue suit designed by The Sevon Dejana Brand, the suit jacket featured diamonds and ruffles at the bottom of the jacket that wasn’t flattering.
Ifuennada also topped the list for worst dressed, she wore a transformation black dress designed by Toyin Lawani, the dress featured several face mask which looked creativity and would probably win an award for a costume design award show but not the AMVCA.
Denrele Edun also lost it on the red carpet, he wore a dress that featured chandelier lights from his head down to his waist, Denrele is known for his fashion statements on red carpet but this has to be the worst of them all.
The Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award will always be an interesting show with celebrities in their different fashion styles from captivating to bizarre.
