Beyonce breaks Grammy record as all-time most decorated female artiste

American singer and songwriter, Beyonce Carter, broke the record at the 63rd Grammy Awards on Sunday night, March 14, as she earned her 28th win.

She is now the most-decorated female artiste of all time.

The singer went into the 63rd Grammy with nine nominations, and won the award for the best music video for the single, “Brown Skin Girl” with 9-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter and Nigerian superstar, Wizkid.

She also won the award for best rap performance, best rap song with the song “Savage” with Megan Thee Stallion.

It was the award for the best R&B performance for “Black Parade” that put her over the top, making her surpass country singer, Alison Krauss, with 27 wins.

She said, “I’ve been working my whole life, since 9-year-old, and I can’t believe this happened.”

While accepting the award for best R&B performance for “Black Parade,” Beyoncé said she was “honored” and “so excited” to get her 28th award.

“Thank you guys. As an artist, I believe it’s my job and all of our jobs to reflect the times,” she said.

“I wanted to uplift and encourage all of the Black kings and queens who inspire me and inspire the whole world … I can’t believe this happened, it’s such a magical night.”
