The Ondo State High Court sitting in Akure Thursday declared the indefinite suspension of the member of the Ondo State House Of Assembly representating Ondo West Constituency I, Hon. Tomide Akinribido, as null and void.

While delivering the judgement, Justice Ademola Bola ruled that that indefinite suspension of Hon.Tomide Akinribido by the Ondo State House of Assembly was arbitrary.

According to him, “The House of Assembly was exceeding its powers and can only suspend for one day/plenary sitting”.

Consequently, the court granted that he (Hon. Tomide Akinribido) be reinstated without further delay.

It would be recalled that embattled Akinribido is the Honorable member representing the Ondo West, Constituency 1 and the only elected representative under the Zenith Labour Party in the state Assembly. His suspension from the Ondo Assembly, which the court declared arbitrary, had lasted for more than two months now.
