Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, has announced the closure of all schools in the state over the ongoing #EndSARS protests.
This comes barely 24 hours after the governor ordered the resumption of all academic institutions in the state after a long recess occasioned by the Covid-19 lockdown.
Governor Akeredolu directed that all schools are closed for the meantime due the engulfing nationwide protest and the need to ensure safety of students and staff.
A statement released through the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, on Tuesday, Mr. Femi Agagu reads:
“Parents and the public are to note this directive and all schools are to comply.
“Any inconvenience is regretted,while the State Government would ensure resumption of our schools as soon as possible. Thank you and God bless”.
Meanwhile, KaftanPost correspondent gathered that there have been a noticeable upscale in the incidents of road blockage by some protesting youths in major roads in Akure, the Ondo state capital, Ondo city, and the commercial Ore metropolis, since Monday amidst burning of tyres on the road.
