President Muhammadu Buhari has written a letter to the Senate, asking them to formally confirm newly appointed Chief of Army Staff (CoAS), Major General Farouk Yahaya.
The letter was read by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, during plenary on Tuesday.
Buhari urged the Senate to consider and approve his requests in the usual expeditious manner.
President Buhari had appointed Major General Yahaya, the CoAS, following the death of Lt-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru in May.
