Buhari to blame for worsening insecurity situation — Rep

Member of the House of Representing, representing Kabba/Bunu and Ijumu Federal Constituency of Kogi State, Rep. Yusuf Tajudeen, has blamed President Muhammadu Buhari and the political class for the lingering insecurity in the country.

Speaking with newsmen at the National Assembly in Abuja, the lawmaker on Wednesday, said that President Buhari had come to nationalize insecurity in the country, adding that actions that should have been taken were neglected.

The Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) lawmaker who was furious on the floor of the House on the issue of insecurity on Tuesday at plenary said that until the right thing was done the issue of insecurity cannot be nipped in the bud.

He insisted the the APC led government have so far done wrongly in the area of security.

“A man who is not ready to die for a cause, he is not worth living. we are where we are because the President refused to give leadership to the people of Nigeria”

“No individual is bigger than the state institution and until we realize this truth, we cannot get things done right.”

He also blamed the political class for failing to speak up in the face of insecurity and other national issues.

“It was the failure of the political class to provide citizens the required leadership in the polity that birthed the insecurity crisis.

“Eccessive affiliation and loyalty to political parties by some politicians is not helping to address the security situation in Nigeria,”he said

Speaking on the way forward, the lawmaker said all politicians should come together no matter their party and put the interest of Nigeria first as a nation.

“President Buhari was voted into power by the pole so therefore he must do all it takes to protect and provide for his citizens no matter the party differences,” he said.
