The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Justice Olukayode Ariwoola has approved the Federal High Court of Nigeria to nominate nine applicants for appointment as Judges to its bench.
This is coming after an earlier approval to get 15 judges on the bench.
In a statement by the Court’s Assistant Director of Information, Catherine Oby Christopher, the nine Judges when appointed would serve in the Bayelsa, Ebonyi, Gombe, Ogun and Oyo divisions of the Court.
The statement made available to newsmen on Friday in Abuja indicated that the Chief Judge of the Court, Justice John Tsoho has asked serving Judges of the Court, the Attorney General of the Federation and the President of the Nigerian Bar Association to nominate suitably.
According to the statement said, nomination must be in compliance with the National Judicial Council Guidelines and Procedural Rules for Appointment of Judicial Officers of Superior Courts.
The statement also requested that all recommendations are to reach the Chambers of the Chief Judge on or before 28 February 2023.
