Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh dies at 70

American radio personality and television host, Rush Hudson Limbaugh has died of lung cancer at the age of 70.

Rush, born January 12, 1951 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri United States died on February 17, 2021 in Palm Beach, Florida, United States.

The radio personality who has been declared deaf for a while now was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer on January 20, 2020 after an experience with shortness of breath on January 12, 2020.

He had announced on radio on October 20, 2020 that his lung cancer is terminal and he has been given a time frame of when he’s expected to die.

The radio personality said, “I wasn’t expected to make it to October, and then to November, and then to December. And yet, here i am, and today got some problems, but i’m feeling pretty good today.”

Days after the announcement, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by then-President Trump at the State of the Union address days later.

His wife, Kathryn Rogers Limbaugh, confirmed his death is related to complications of lung cancer when she made the announcement on his radio show on Wednesday February 17.

“For over 32 years, Rush has cherished you, his loyal audience, and always looked forward to every single show.

“It is with profound sadness that I must share with you directly that our beloved Rush, my wonderful husband, passed away this morning due to complications from lung cancer.”

“As so many of you know, losing a loved one is terribly difficult, even more so when that loved one is larger than life,” she said.

Rush has often been investigated for illegally obtaining prescription drugs Oxycodone and Hydrocodone. He admitted to his radio fans of his addiction to painkillers to help his back.

Former President George W. Bush called Limbaugh a “friend throughout” his two terms and praised the talk show host for his battle against hearing loss and cancer.

“Rush Limbaugh was an indomitable spirit with a big heart, and he will be missed,” he said in a statement.

He is best known for The Rush Limbaugh show. Married four times with no kids.
