Corps members tongue lash INEC

INEC ad hoc staff that were commissioned to conduct the presidential elections have tongue lashed Independent National electoral commission (INEC) for total  abandonment when it called off the election last Saturday.

Most of the corps members spoken to said INEC officials abandoned the ad hoc staff without explaining to them that the election had been postponed.

INEC chairman, Yakub Mahmood, had at exactly 2:40am Saturday morning explained to the world of the postponement based on some logistic problems.

A civil servant, Mrs Olibale Titilayo, who was not happy with the turn of events  explained that she has lost confidence in INEC organizing a credible elections with the way it handled its auxillary staff.

She added that the body in the process endangered the lives of these Nigerian to hoodlums at the middle of the night and that while its Adhoc staff were waiting for both sensitive and non sensitive election materials, some civil servants who were part of the ad hoc staff were harassed in the midnight.

Some of the Corps members in Ondo state who did not want their names mentioned lamented that the lives of the corps members were endangered not only in Ondo state but across the nation.

“Nobody address us or give us a clue on what to do, who to go to, and what is going on in the INEC office here in Ondo state, we slept on trees, ground and some were lucky to get mat, we passed the night on the floor like dogs” a corps member said in an interview with KAFTANPOST newspaper.
