An Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court in Osun on Wednesday remanded a 25-year-old man, Adewale Ademola, in police custody over alleged theft of a Bajaj Boxer motorcycle.
The Magistrate, Bose Idowu, refused bail for the defendant and ordered his remand in police custody.
Idowu adjourned the case till Aug. 21 for the presentation of facts.
The Prosecutor, Insp Abdullahi Emmanuel, told the court that the defendant committed the offence in May, 2019 at about 12:00 noon at Fasina area, Ile-Ife.
Emmanuel said that the defendant stole the motorcycle marked OGUN SRA 797 QJ and valued at N230,000, property of one Adetunji Sikiru.
He said that the offences contravened sections 383 and 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to one-count charge of stealing.
