The Comptroller-General of Immigrations Service, Mohammed Babandede, has gone into self-isolation after taken ill on his return from a trip to the United Kingdom.

Though details of his sudden illness are sketchy, sources say the Immigration boss is in a terrible shape raising fears that he might have contracted the Coronavirus.

The fact that he just returned from Britain, where Coronavirus infection is rapidly increasing has lent weight to these fears among family, friends and colleagues.

His continuing absence from office is being discussed in hushed tones by officers and men of the Service even as his deputy is said to have taken charge.

Some high ranking government officials have lately tested positive to COVID-19 while many have tested negative.

Some have also gone into self isolation either on their return from foreign trip or after coming in contact with an infected person.

One of the top officials to have tested positive is the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari.

Governor Mohamned of Bauchi State has also caught the virus.
