The Daura Emirate, where President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to celebrate the coming Eid-El fitr has suspended all celebrations, including the Sallah Durbar.

This is to commiserate with victims of bandits attack in some communities and other cases of insecurity in the state and the nation at large.

President Muhammadu Buhari hails from the emirate.

The decision of the emirate was made known in a press statement dated May 6, 2021 and signed by Danejin Daura, Abdulmumini Salihu, on behalf of the secretary of the council.

The statement disclosed that special prayers will be offered for sustainable peace in the state immediately after the Eid prayers on Sallah day.

There has been increase in insecurity in the country with banditry activities on the rise in the North-West, while Boko Haram has sustained its terrorist attacks in the North East. The South-East and South-South are not left with the activities of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
