Senator Shehu Sani has asked the Federal Government to declare bandits as federal civil servants since pronouncing them terrorists seems difficult.
Nigerians and groups have continued to call on the Buhari-administration to declare bandits as terrorists but the government has refused.
Bandits and kidnappers have been on rampage in the North West, killing, kidnapping, and maiming residents.
In a tweet on Monday morning, the former federal lawmaker representing Kaduna Central District at the 8th Assembly said if the Government doesn’t want to declare them terrorists, it should declare them federal civil servants.
He tweeted: “Yesterday’s attacks on the Baptist Church Kakau Daji, Kaduna state by terrorists, the killing of some worshippers and the abductions of scores of others is tragic and unfortunate. The suspension of the telecom services in the North is useless.”
In another tweet, he said, “They [bandits] killed Muslim worshipers in their mosques in Niger and Katsina State; they killed Christians in their Churches in Kaduna State; if the Government doesn’t want to declare them terrorists, it should declare them federal civil servants.”
