Entertainer and disc jockey, DJ Cuppy, has dropped defamation suit made against Davido’s aide, Israel Afeare.
DJ Cuppy had threatened to sue Israel for libel and defamation. Israel who is a die-hard fan of Davido and a “supposed” friend of singer, Zlatan, had slammed Cuppy of not paying the singer after the collaboration of song ‘Gelato’.
Israel on January 21, 2021 on twitter wrote, “Kudos to someone like Zlatan, who took a bold step by flushing out a full fake friend like Cuppy, who was just using his head, all in the name of ‘my papa na Otedola’.”
Cuppy had served him letters from her lawyers instead. This prompted Israel to make a long-length video to apologise to the disc jockey.
She wrote, “For the record, there have been no breaches of my contractual agreement regarding the song #Gelato as confirmed by lawyer…
“However, as @IsrealDMW publicly inaccurately declared I owe an artist money, I am suing him for libel and defamation…
“See you in court Isreal.”
However, DJ Cuppy has decided to drop all charges on Davido’s aide. She posted on her Instagram story on March 19, 2021 to reveal the news.
She wrote, “Following the public apology of Mr Isreall Afeare (@IsrealDMW). I have decided to no longer proceed with the lawsuit and have instructed my lawyers accordingly.
“As social media users, I hope that we can all learn from this. And ensure that we have valid facts before we speak on matters. #GELATO.”
