Dr Chike Akunyili, the husband to late Director-General of the National Food And Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Professor Dora Akunyili, has been shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Anambra state.
According to reports, Dr Chike was killed on Tuesday on his way from Onitsha.
It was gathered that the deceased’s driver and escort were also killed during the attack.
Akunyili had on Tuesday attended a lecture at Sharon Hall, All Saints Cathedral, Onitsha, which was organized by the University of Nigeria Nsukka Alumni Association (UNAA), Onitsha branch, in honour of his late wife, Prof Dora Akunyili.
