Equity market sheds N261bn as Dangote Cement leads losers table

Dangote Cement industries has recorded the highest loss during at the Nigerian Stock Exchange, dropping by N16.00 to close at N170.00.

Guaranty Trust Bank followed with a drop of N0.70 kobo to close at N31.30 kobo, Eterna dropped by N0.40 kobo to close at N3.95 kobo, Custodian and Allied Insurance fell by N0.35 kobo to close at N5.60 kobo while Access Bank sheds N0.35 kobo to close at N5.50 kobo.

Unilever Nigeria Plc led gainers table, increasing by N3.25 kobo to close at N37.00, Julius Berger followed with a gain of N2.35 kobo to close at N25.85 kobo, Flour Mills Nigeria Plc increased by N0.85 kobo to close at N18.85 kobo, Zenith Bank Plc added N0.70 kobo to close at N21.00 while Mobil grew by N0.40 kobo to close at N184.00.

The NSE daily trading result showed that market capitalisation of listed equities declined further to N10.939 trillion from N11.200 trillion recorded the previous day.

The NSE All Share Index depreciated to 29336.80 points from 30036.15 points. Investors traded 234.897 million shares worth N2.245 billion in 2806 deals against 216.248 million shares valued at N2.669 billion exchanged hands in the previous day in 4508 deals.

The review of the transactions indicated that Diamond Bank Plc recorded the highest volume of activities during the day, exchanging 54.670 million shares worth N103.944 million, Guaranty Trust Bank Plc followed with account of 27.682 million shares valued at N865.704 million, Zenith Bank Plc traded 25.816 million shares cost N526.337 million, FBNHoldings exchanged 21.520 million shares worth N152.101 million while Transnational Corporation of Nigeria sold 15.480 million shares valued at N17.950 million.
