Ex-Minister of Education, Jerry Agada, dies of COVID-19

A former Minister of Education, Professor Jerry Agada, has died.

The Chairman of Benue State Civil Service Commission died of the deadly COVID-19 at the early hours of Tuesday in Makurdi.

Born on November 11, 1952 at Orokam, in Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State, Professor Agada died as a Nigerian educationist, Scholar, and Author of several Books.

He was President of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Vice-Chairman of Fidei Polytechnic, Gboko.

He became popular for writings with the publication of his first book, The Magic year – poetry in prose and rhymes in 1996.

Though no official statement has been issued by the family of the Chairman, Governing Board of the National Commission for College of Education (NCCE) but a close family source disclosed that he took ill two weeks ago and was on admission when he passed on.
