Anambra State First Lady, Ebele Obiano, has triggered mixed reactions on social media after travelling to the United States to receive Covid-19 vaccine.
Mrs Obiano, in a video which went viral on Monday, was spotted in a car receiving Moderna vaccine.
Before being administered the drug, the wife of the governor was asked about her name and date of birth.
And according to Mrs Obiano, her sojourn was to demonstrate the safety of the vaccine against negative speculations.
She noted that it is to show the people of Anambra in particular and Nigerians in general that it is safe to take the vaccine.
“I’m doing this to demonstrate that people should be prepared when it’s available to take the vaccine. There’s nothing to worry about,” she said.
Ebele Obiano also confirmed in the live video that Nigeria has not commenced the distribution of coronavirus vaccine.

Nigeria currently has over 110,000 coronavirus cases, with less than 600 recorded in Anambra.
No end to Medical Vacation abroad for Nigerian leaders even for something as simple as covid-19 vaccinations, they spend millions of tax payers hard earned money for personal preservation and leave the rest of the people to the possibility of an African version of the vaccine and the attendant suspicions?
