What a time to be African as Nigerian designers designed astonishing bridal looks for Ini Dima to wear on her wedding day and it was nothing less than breathtaking.
It was all fairytale for Nollywood’s leading lady Ini Dima as she tied the knot with now-husband Abasi Ene-Obong, who is the founder and CEO of 54gene.
The actress who recently starred in the Netflix original series ‘Blood Sisters’ had her traditional and white wedding at a luxurious event center located in Lagos.
Before the traditional and white wedding, the couple had their civil wedding surrounded by lovely family and supportive friends. Ini looked extremely happy in a custom Derin Fabikun all white outfit that featured a top with crepe detailing and a straight pants, paired with a white net fascinator.
The traditional ceremony #Achocolatelovestory was a mixture of two Nigerian cultures, Edo and Calabar, Ini wore a red velvet dress designed by the famous Nigerian designer Tubobereni, who took three months and a half to hand bead the velvet fabric.
Later, the Edo bride changed into a jaw-dropping Calabar bridal look designed by the talented Lanre Dasilva and for the after party Ini Dima wore a custom Tubo chocolate shimmering dress that came with a beautiful head piece.
The stunning bride said “i do” in an exquisite wedding gown designed by Mazelle-bridal, featuring crepe detailing, a side trail and buttons revealing the sweep long train at the back.
Ini kept her makeup soft yet glamorous as she looked elegant in her reception dress designed by Derin Fabikun which featured a bustier bodice and silhouette with deconstructed pearls for cascading sleeves.
Derin contacted one of the best in the game to provide a customized pearl beaded fabric suitable for the design of choice and they hand beaded the details with the idea to let it shine without being an overpowering beaded dress.
Every single outfit was made in Nigeria by Nigerian designers and it is safe to say that these incredible designers have proven to Nigerian women that you do not need to travel out of your country to get the perfect bridal look.
