The Federal Government has put on hold the planned resumption of federal schools.

It also said emphatically that no school would participate in the West African Senior School Certificate Examinations.

Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, disclosed this to State House Correspondents after the Federal Executive Council meeting held on Wednesday.

The session was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari, with the majority of cabinet members participating virtually.

According to Adamu, the new twist was caused by the rising number of COVID -19 cases in the country, further putting any plans to reopen schools under risk.
