The United States have mourned with Nigeria on the demise of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru.
The US Mission in Nigeria in a statement issued on Friday night, said Nigeria is going through difficult time.
Attahiru died in a plane crash alongside his entourage on Friday in Kaduna.
According to United States, the demise of Attahiru and others is “a tremendous loss to Nigeria, and his loved ones”.
“During this difficult time across Nigeria when security and peace is so needed, we offer our deepest sympathy to the family of General Attahiru and to the families of all those who perished,” the statement reads.
One of Attahiru’s last public engagements was his appearance at the House of Representatives in April after being appointed earlier this year.
