Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has appealed to Pastor W.F Kumuyi of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry to pray for lasting peace and security in the state.

Bello made this appeal on Thursday at the commencement of the 6-day Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK) taking place at the Trade Fair Complex, with the theme, God of All Possibilities.

The governor who was officially represented by his Commissioner of Internal Security and Humanitarian Affairs, Emmanuel Umar, said the courageous nature of Kumuyi to host thousands of christian faithfuls ”despite viral negative report of pervading security challenges in the state stood the cleric out among many religious leaders as a true man of faith endowed with godly power and authority.”

Bello’s speech came at a time when Niger State has been described by many security analysts as the hotbed of terrorism, banditry and kidnapping.

He said, ‘Please sir, use your wealth of knowledge to promote peace, and religious tolerance in Niger State as you have always done anywhere you go. The people of Niger state is hospitable, accommodating. You religious tolerance have made me to make out time out of my busy schedule to personally join the christian community in the state to welcome a man of faith as we all know you”

Bello further requested, ” Your lordship sir, I I request earnestly that you pray for lasting peace, security and prosperity in our dear state.

The governor maintain that the Trade Fair Complex, the venue of the crusade which is located at the City Gate, was a symbol that the land has been open to him to speak truth to power.

‘The crusade venue is situated at the city gate. The land is open to you. Speak the truth and pray for our land”.

Earlier, upon arrival to Minna, Kumuyi had paid a courtesy visit to the former Military Head Of State, Ibrahim Babangida at his Hilltop mansion.

The Global crusade which started last Thursday is expected to end on Tuesday 27th, September 2022.
