The Nasarawa State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Alhaji Lawal Yakubu, has been kidnapped by gunmen.
The Commissioner, who was trailed to his house by the gunmen, was taken away to an unknown destination between the hours of 8:45 and 9 p.m., Monday night.
Residents of the area were thrown into confusion as a result of sporadic gunshots by the abductors numbering about ten, according to reports.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, who confirmed the incident, explained that the detail about the kidnap of the commissioner was sketchy and that he was still awaiting full information.
