Gunmen in the early hours of Monday kidnapped a popular businessman Alhaji Nasiru Na’ayya in Gangarbi Village of the Rogo Local Government Area of Kano State.
A relation of the victim, who confirmed the incident to newsmen, said the abductors stormed the businessman’s residence at about midnight on Monday.
He said on arriving at the residence, they started shooting indiscriminately into the air, an action that attracted the attention of the victim’s neighbours.
“When residents of the area attempted to prevent the gunmen from going with the victim, they shot two people, which led to the death of one instantly and another was injured and is currently receiving treatment at the hospital,” the eyewitness added.
This has been confirmed by the state police command Spokesman, , SP Abdullahi Haruna.
He said he was yet to be fully briefed by the Divisional Police Officer from the area.
