Gunmen suspected to be bandits have abducted the Special Adviser on Political Affairs to Zamfara State Governor, Ibrahim Ma,aji.

Ma,aji was abducted in his house in Mareri area in Gusau town, the State capital, in the early hours of Saturday.

A source close to the family, Mohammed Ahmed, who confirmed the development to newsmen, said the bandits were yet to reach out to them.

He said, “The bandits are yet to call any of the family members to demand ransom. We have been calling his phone number and it was ringing but nobody answers.”

Efforts to bring the activities of bandits to a halt has proved difficult despite reports of breakthroughs by troops of the Nigeria Army.
