Nigeria has a long way to go in the fight against the dreaded COVID -19 disease if public perception of coronavirus remains as it is; lukewarm.
In most parts of the country, especially in the north, with high population density, the belief among the populace is that COVID-19 is a rich man’s disease, even where deaths as a result of the deadly virus, is increasing among the less privileged.
Some even poke fun and find the government’s efforts to fight the disease as funny as can be seen in the accompanying video in one major city in northern Nigeria.
The scenario has left many observers wondering how long it would take the country to win the COVID-19 war.
On this evidence, surely, not anytime soon.
