IGP appoints ex-force spokesperson Mba new Lagos CP, redeploys Owohunwa to Ogun

A former Spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Frank Mba, has been appointed as Commissioner of Police in Lagos State.

Also, Idowu Owohunwa was appointed as the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State.

This was conveyed in a letter addressed to the Police Service Commission (PSC) by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba.

Dated January 24, 2023, and signed by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police to the Police Service Commission (PSC), Hafiz Inuwa, the Police boss requested the approval of the PSC for the redeployment of Mba and Owohunwa as CPs for Lagos and Ogun States, respectively.

The letter reads: “I am directed to humbly write and forward the proposed posting of the under-mentioned Commissioners of Police to State Commands indicated against their names for the commission’s kind consideration and approval.

“The Inspector-General of Police is deploying the under-mentioned Commissioners of Police to strengthen the strategic and operational control of the Commands.”

Frank Mba is currently the Commissioner of Police in charge, Federal Border Patrol branch at the department of operations, while Owohunwa is the Principal Staff Officer (PSO) to the Inspector General of Police.

Mba is taking over from CP Abiodun Alabi while Owohunwa, will be taking over from CP Lanre Bankole as Commissioners.
