Nigerian online comedy group, Ikorodu Bois, has bagged a nomination for the Favourite African Social Media Star category at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
The Ikorodu Bois is a group of young lads that recreate and mimic Hollywood movie videos, multi-million dollar music videos and epic pictures.
Ikorodu Bois gained attention when they made a recreation of movie titled ‘Extraction’ which earned them an invite to the premiere of the movie, ‘Extraction 2’. This was posted on twitter and Instagram.
In April 2020, U.S rapper and actor, Will Smith, shared a clip of ‘Ikorodu Bois’ Bad Boys Forever on his Instagram with caption: ‘This is GENIUS @Ikorodu_bois!!’
Ikorodu Bois also did a farewell replica of NBA star, Kobe Byrant, after his death.
The trio had reacted to the news, they took to their verified Instagram account to share the good news with their followers, they said, “Yass!!! We have been nominated for a Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award.”
The Ikorodu Bois also gained the attention of the creative world including CNN, Netflix, and Nigerian born international filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan.
Afolayan expressed his decision to reward the Ikorodu Bois’ hard work, passion, and undaunted creativity, by nurturing and encouraging them.
The group of boys were awarded a full scholarship into KAP Film & Television Academy as well as an exclusive mentorship program with Kunle Afolayan.
