Benue State Governor-elect, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, says he would broker peace between residents and Fulani herders community when sworn in as governor.

The governor-elect wondered where the Benue and Fulani community fell apart, leading to endless crisis and loss of lives.

He made the pledge when he visited President Muhammadu Buhari in the Presidential Villa Abuja, in the company of former governor of the state, and current Minister of Special Duties, George Akume.

He described the recent election that produced him as largely transparent, attributing the feat to President Buhari.

According to him, there are no perfect elections anywhere, but the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, may have succeeded in conducting a near-perfect election which could be built upon going forward as a nation.
